- ⚙️ Metal. Bars or tubes from 12 to 20 mm.
- 🧱 Concrete. Massive posts from 100 to 150 mm.
- 🏛️ Newel posts. Starting supports from 80 to 100 mm.

- 📏 Spacing. 12 cm maximum per GOST.
- 👦 Gap for children. No more than 10 cm between elements.
- 📐 Edge offset. At least 2–4 cm from the step edge.
